One of the most infamous haunting stories among the many in Connecticut comes from a place called Dudleytown.
In the mid 18th century, the Dudley family migrated from England and settled in a small village in the Northwestern part of Connecticut, known today as Cornwall. Today, the town is closed to the public. Most of the property is consumed by forest.
The legend is that previous owners who settled in the village were plagued with terrible misfortune. People have claimed to experience strange occurrences in the spooky woods that surround the village, including a lack of animal wildlife in the eerily quiet woods.
The site has become quite a nuisance for local and state police, and the property is currently privately owned by the Dark Entry Forest Association — even that sounds spooky…
